Monroe, Washington – Round 5 of the 2013 Formula Drift Championship took place 45 minutes outside of Seattle at Evergreen Speedway. The “10 years and Still Sideways” campaign continued it’s season of exceeding all expectations with yet another fan packed sell out crowd. Entering the event Daijiro Yoshihara’s Championship points held him in the top 10 but he would find himself in 11th, out of the top 10 by the end of the event for the first time this season.
“My season continues to have problems. My team and I still try to win and to do our best and we will not let this weekends events change that,” said Daijiro Yoshihara. “With two rounds left, it’s fortunate to say I still have a chance and the challenge will be extremely difficult but I welcome the challenge.”
Released at this round was also the first of many Dai x illest brand collaborative shirt designs and bumper stickers. Both the shirt and bumper sticker are now available online at illestbrand.com and daiyoshiharastore.com. “Illest apparel and designs have always been a favorite and to have them support me and my drift program is a great honor. The shirts came out great and I’m looking forward to the next collaboration already,” said Daijiro.
Like previous events, fundraising for charity Relief for Japan continued. Onsite donations plus the pre-event ebay auction for VIP tickets and a gift bag with contributions by Falken Tire, Discount Tire, Formula Drift, Sparco, GT Channel, Drive Energy, DAI and KW Suspension totaled $482.00.
