Wall, New Jersey – Round 4 of the 2013 Formula Drift Championships took place at Wall, New Jersey and capacity crowds were met with some of the greatest drifting match ups this season. After having a poor qualifying run in the first session, Daijiro Yoshihara was forced to make a second qualifying attempt to secure him a spot in the top 32. He would eventually take 30th and face, undoubtedly, one of the most feared drivers in the series, Fredric Aasbo.
The last time they met was back at round one in the streets of Long Beach where Dai not only ended up winning that match up but the event itself. This time around, the results weren’t duplicated and Aasbo would best Dai in their tandem battle knocking him out in the round of 32. It was yet again an early exit for the past champion, really testing him and the team.
“Persistence will pay off and the team and I are always making changes, improving the car and making it more and more competitive at each round. The next round can not come soon enough,” says Dai Yoshihara. “My team continues to learn from each event, my fans continue to support my desire to win and compete, and I appreciate it all.”
With more than half of the season over and three rounds remaining, the next round takes place in the Northwest in what has become one of the most popular events of the series. Just like past events, Dai will continue his charity auction for passes to the event accompanied by a VIP gift bag. New Jersey’s fundraising for his charity, Relief for Japan, raised over $1,000.00, the very first time this year.
